Ethics and Professional Standards

Reiki is a complementary energy practice intended to support relaxation, emotional balance, and overall well-being.

Reiki sessions and Reiki-infused products offered through Vitalis Light are not a substitute for veterinary care, medical treatment, psychological counseling, or professional training. No diagnosis, treatment, prescription, or cure of any physical, emotional, or behavioral condition is offered, claimed, or implied.

Guardians are encouraged to seek appropriate veterinary or medical care for any health concern involving their animals or themselves. Reiki is offered as a supportive practice that may accompany, but never replace, qualified professional care.

Code of ethics

I operate with a commitment to ethical practice and respect for every relationship I am invited into. The principles below guide every session and every interaction:

• Compassion and respect for every animal and every guardian
• Integrity in energetic practice
• Confidentiality of client information, session experiences, and personal circumstances
• Honoring the emotional bond between animals and the humans who love them
• Maintaining clear and consistent professional boundaries
• Practicing Reiki with humility, attention, and care
• Recommending appropriate veterinary, medical, or behavioral resources when a situation extends beyond the scope of energetic support

Professional conduct

Every session is conducted in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Guardians are always free to decide whether Reiki feels supportive for their animals or for them. Participation is entirely voluntary, and sessions may be discontinued at any time.

Each session is approached with care, attention, and respect for the unique relationship between the animal and the guardian being supported. No client is asked to share more than they wish to share, and no information offered is used for any purpose beyond the preparation and conduct of the session.

Scope of practice

Vitalis Light offers Reiki, a gentle energy practice, and Reiki-infused physical objects intended to support calm, balance, and emotional well-being. Vitalis Light does not provide veterinary diagnosis, medical advice, behavioral training, animal training, psychological counseling, or any service that requires licensure outside the scope of Reiki practice.

Reiki is recognized as a complementary wellness modality. It is not a medical treatment, and no outcome is promised, predicted, or guaranteed. Each animal and each guardian responds in their own way, and the experience of every session is individual.

Client responsibility

Clients are responsible for ensuring that animals receiving sessions remain in a safe, calm, and appropriate environment for the duration of any live session. Reiki sessions are intended to support calm and balance but are not a substitute for responsible animal care, supervision, training, or veterinary guidance.

Guardians are responsible for the ongoing physical, emotional, and medical care of their animals at all times. Vitalis Light supports, but does not replace, that care.

Confidentiality and discretion

Many guardians share deeply personal moments involving their animals, their families, and their lives. That trust is honored without exception. Client identities, session details, photographs, and personal circumstances are treated as confidential and are never discussed publicly, shared with media, posted on social channels, or disclosed to outside parties.

No client is identified, referenced, or acknowledged publicly without explicit written permission, and that permission is never solicited. Vitalis Light does not name clients, share testimonials, post recognizable photographs, or confirm or deny working with any individual, family, or household to anyone outside of the session itself.

Confidentiality extends to every aspect of the Vitalis Light practice and is maintained as a core professional standard.

Right to deletion

Any client may request the complete deletion of their photographs, session notes, intake information, and any other personal records held by Vitalis Light at any time, for any reason, without explanation. Requests are honored promptly. Once deleted, these records cannot be recovered.

Information required to be retained for legal, tax, or transaction record purposes will be retained only as long as legally required and held with the same standard of confidentiality.

Insurance and professional affiliation

Vitalis Light operates under professional liability insurance through Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP), the leading professional association for energy work practitioners in the United States. Certifications, continuing education, and professional affiliations are maintained current and are available for review upon request.
